After years of being simply the MVP of many of the show’s sketches, we are so thrilled to see Taran Killam finally getting the promo treatment for this weekend’s edition of “Saturday Night Live.” As a result, we may very well have for you here the funniest promo ever created for the show.
Really, the segment in the video below that produced the most laughs for us was seeing Killam for whatever reason try his hardest to get the love and admiration of Mr. James Bond himself in Daniel Craig … and we do mean love. It was creepy, awkward, but also pretty brilliant. We were also pleasantly surprised by how much comedic game Craig showed in this little clips, whether it be by wearing a wig or rocking out with an air guitar. It’s been a while since we have seen him do comedy, and his chops really are very much intact.
As for if his show will deliver as a whole, we’re hoping so. “SNL” has had two weeks here to come up with some pretty good potential, and in between a possible Bond parody and what is coming up in the election one month away, we are definitely going to have a bevy of possible good material. It’s also about time that we could start to see some of our other favorite characters that we haven’t seen yet this season … namely Stefon. We really need to see Stefon.
What do you think about this promo, and are the odds good from your standpoint that we are in for one of the best shows yet? If you want to see who some of the other hosts are going to be moving forward in October, all you have to do is read the story that is up over at the link here.
