Ransom season 3 episode 2 preview: ‘Black Dolphin’ & Eric’s tough case

Black Dolphin

Following today’s premiere on CBS / Global, do you want to get some more news on Ransom season 3 episode 2? The next new episode is entitled “Black Dolphin,” and it is airing in just seven days’ time.

If you’ve been following this series for the better part of the past couple of years, then you’ve got a good sense as to precisely how the story works. Week in and week out, Eric and his team have to take on difficult negotiations in order to make the world a better, safer place. The challenge for the writers is just finding a way to do it every single time that allows the characters to get to the other side.

Below, check out the Ransom season 3 episode 2 synopsis — it gives you an idea as to how the writers are taking on this challenge now:

“Black Dolphin” – The FBI asks Eric to use his negotiating expertise to convince the brainwashed survivor of an internet predator to reveal the identity of the person who incites vulnerable people to harm themselves, on RANSOM, Saturday, Feb. 23 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

This is probably one of the most topical cases that Ransom could take on, given that there are a lot of evil, manipulative people online who can cause tremendous hard to individuals. These are also people who are hard to sometimes track down.

What are the ratings expectations this season?

It’s in this spot for most of the seaosn that we’ll talk the show’s ratings performance on CBS + chance of sticking around. Yet, since tonight is the premiere, we don’t have too much to go on just yet.

With that said, we just think that the goal here is for the ratings to stay reasonably steady in comparison to what they were in season 2. The show averaged then a 0.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic and almost 2.5 million viewers. While those are not good figures by any means, the thing to remember here above all else is that CBS doesn’t have to invest the same money into Ransom that they do some of their own shows. It can sustain with lower viewership. This season is likely going to benefit from premiering earlier in the year, when there are more viewers around. However, what’s working against it at present is the simple fact that there are probably a lot of people out there who don’t even know, at the moment, that it’s back on the air. This is hardly the most-promoted show in the world. Shows also do tend to drop around 10-15%, at least, every season.
