God Friended Me episode 14 video: Meet Cal; Miles’ future plans

CBS has made you wait for a long time for God Friended Me episode 14, but come Sunday, the wait is almost over! There’s a new episode airing on Sunday night, and within it, Miles is going to have a lot of questions about where he stands at the moment in life.

In the sneak peek below, you can see Miles in the midst of an existential debate — everyone else in his life is experiencing a great deal of success. Rakesh and Cara’s careers, for example, are rising up in a big way; yet, he still finds himself trying to get his podcast into the mainstream. It’s definitely more popular than it once was, but not so much that he can do it as a full-time job just yet. He’s afraid that he’s going to be in his thirties and still trying to find a lane for his future, and that’s where Cara comes with the encouragement. She also tells him about a new podcast collective that he could consider joining, one that may be a more natural fit for what he’s doing than what he’s tried out in the past.

We do hope that Miles ends up pursuing a larger home for his podcast within this episode, but there are also some other things that are going to be a priority for him here. Take, for example, getting a chance to see his old friend Cal again. Apparently, the two used to be super-close, but they haven’t spent a heck of a lot of time together since then. The sneak peek shows that Miles is so desperate to impress him that he inflates the success of the podcast; clearly, he does care immensely about what he thinks about him. This shows a vulnerability in the character that is certainly relatable; we’ll just have to see if there is anything more for Cal in this episode beyond this.

In the immediate future, Miles may be too distracted to think either about Cal or his long-term aspirations; after all, the God Account is handing down yet another friend suggestion, and this is one that he and Cara are going to need to attend to sooner rather later. It’s the fundamental premise of the show, after all!
