The Resident season 2 episode 16 spoilers: Quovadis & ‘Adverse Events’

The Resident season 2 episode 16 carries with it the title of “Adverse Events,” and the story itself is going be a battle. You will have Quovadis, the power-hungry medical-devise company, on one side of the struggle. Meanwhile, on the other you will have many characters within Chastain. By this point in the season (think Monday, March 4), it’s possible that many characters on the show may be starting to realize the same thing: This corporation is evil, and therefore is not worth either their money, time, or attention. There is absolutely quite a bit of exciting stuff to prepare for with this plot, but above all else, we’re hoping for some freedom from Quovadis … and some justice for Julian. Regardless of whether or not she is alive, she didn’t deserve what happened to her.

The surgeons are determined to shut down Quovadis after Henry Barnett (guest star Evan Whitten) almost loses his life due to a device malfunction. As Mina and Devon set out to find the truth, Bell, AJ and Conrad work to save the life of Chastain’s favorite custodian, Simon (guest star Dan Lauria). Meanwhile, one of Alec’s old patients ends up in the ER, forcing him to question if he made the right choice to leave his old practice for Nic’s clinic in the all-new “Adverse Events” episode of THE RESIDENT airing Monday, March 4 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. Obviously, there is more that is going on within this episode beyond just Quovadis, but it hard to really focus on any of it given the huge shadow that the company has spread across the season. We do of course wonder about Alec’s future on the show given that, at least to us, it’s always felt a little bit perilous. His work at the clinic has always been a little bit separate from Chastain, even though he is attached in some ways to the story of Nic and Conrad. Either he stays at the clinic or he goes at some point within the reasonably-near future; that is something we hope there is a little bit more information on at some point in the future.

Ultimately, we’re looking forward to discussing what happens here no matter how the story shakes down; let’s just cross our fingers and hope for a little bit of closure with Quovadis. If that happens, everyone can move on to other things as we approach the finale.
