Shadowhunters season 3 episode 11 video: Alec, Magnus babysit!

In the new video below, you can see Magnus and Alec getting a visit from Madzie, as the two are going to look after her as Catarina is away. She’s grateful or the two of them, especially since she realizes that Magnus is going through some stuff right now. He’s lost his magic and we imagine that there are going to be some struggles that come along with that; he’s handling it fairly well in the sneak peek, but sooner or later we wouldn’t be surprised if he struggles. It is a huge part of his identity and because of that, it’s something that he will have to reconcile. The best thing for him is that he continues to be vulnerable and allow Alec to be there for him. It’s not a burden — it’s something that he can welcome. We’ve already seen Alec help to open up Magnus’ heart more and that’s something that we hope continues.
As for Madzie’s presence in the preview, there’s just something rather sweet about it. She allows Magnus and Alec both to show off a different side, and it does bring to mind a life that the two of them could have in the event that they weren’t so preoccupied having to save the world much of the time. Maybe there is, eventually, a time in which they can have more of a relaxed, domestic sort of existence. They’re just not there yet and we’re sure that, on some level, the two of them are aware that such a thing is not in the cards for the immediate future. They don’t even know the full extent of what’s coming their way yet … but they will soon.
