Chicago Fire season 7 episode 15 preview: Crossover begins in ‘What I Saw’

Next week with Chicago Fire season 7 episode 15, you’re going to have a chance to see a tradition — another crossover! While it would be great to have one featuring Chicago Med as well as Chicago PD, this one is just featuring the folks over at Firehouse 51 and then also Intelligence. It’s still better than no crossover at all, and it allows some characters to remain in one another’s orbit in some interesting ways.

So who is at the center of the first part of the crossover? Think none other than Joe Cruz, as he is going to be heading undercover to help figure out what’s happening among a mysterious group of firefighters. Is someone at another firehouse potentially responsible for some robberies? Is something amiss underneath the surface. It’s going to be up to Crus, with the help of Voight and Boden, to figure things out.

Below, CarterMatt has the official Chicago Fire season 7 episode 15 synopsis with some more news as to what’s coming:

02/20/2019 (09:00PM – 10:00PM) (Wednesday) : In the first part of a crossover with “Chicago P.D.,” a spate of robberies comes to light after a firehouse lockbox key goes missing. CPD’s Voight has suspicions that a firefighter may be involved, and with Boden’s support he recruits Cruz to go undercover and help sniff out any suspicious activity.

Just in case you are wondering precisely why we are seeing Cruz entering this position rather than someone in Intelligence, it’s really simple and comes down to one thing: Skill set. It’s hard to train someone in Intelligence to do this sort of job, and because of that it’s simply so much more effective to have someone do it who already knows what they’re doing. What is also so great about Cruz is that he is the sort of person who is so jovial and easy to get along with that nobody will ever suspect him of anything. He can likely flutter in and out of this situation without anyone being altogether aware of what he’s up to or what he could be capable of doing.
