Death in Paradise season 8 episode 6 video: The quest to save Florence
What do we know entering this episode? Well, that’s rather simple: Florence’s life is in danger. It seems, based on the promo, that she may technically be alive when Jack finds her, but there is no 100% guarantee that the character will stay that way. This is going to be about resolving a case that first kicked off on this past episode, and we’re going to have a chance to see a lot of chaos and mystery throughout it. It’s possible that the life of some other character could be either in jeopardy or taken altogether — there’s certainly plenty of buzz out there about Patrice. One way or another, this feels like the sort of story that is going to stick out.
Perhaps Jack says it best within the promo — typically, solving cases is a way to get yourself a sense of closure. However, we’re not 100% sure that this is the case this time around. This could be a story that lingers a little bit more and for good reason. Given that we are talking about a case where the Saint Marie police force is a little more intimately involved — and it’s a two-parter — it is probably going to have a little bit more of an emotional impact than most. By the end of this episode, we do hope for at least some resolution, mostly because it would be prudent for some of these characters to have an opportunity to move on and tackle what it’s next.
First and foremost, we’re hoping that Florence survives in this episode. Beyond that, we’re of course hoping for an opportunity to see that character actually find a little bit of happiness, let alone the rest of the team. They deserve it, though we know that the ever-diminishing population of Saint Marie may make it harder to find people they can spend time with outside of work. How many people are destined to die in this pace? It seems like the population is dwindling with each passing season. (Yes, we do say this somewhat tongue in cheek.)
