If you look below, you can see a special fan-made billboard that was entirely funded by the show’s supporters. It’s a beautiful image, one that blows even some of Freeform’s own promotional material for this season out of the water. Fans have been coming up with their own fan-made posters and promotional material for a while, largely as a means to give the show more coverage in a way that is suited for some of their goals — to get the show a season 4 somewhere else following Freeform’s cancellation.

We do think that the billboard is placed in a pretty high-traffic area, and certainly a spot where it will be noticed. It says a lot about the Shadowhunters fandom that even still, most than half a year removed from the initial cancellation, that there is still such a spirit around saving the show. It speaks to a deep admiration of the cast and crew, let alone a never-say-die attitude. These are things that could end up better defining the future of the series.

This new billboard has already caught the attention of co-showrunner Todd Slavkin, who made it clear that he was “deeply moved” by its existence. These are viewers who are super eager to get the show back on the air on February 25. There are twelve episodes still to come this season and throughout those, you will have a chance to see the continuation of a dramatic Clary-based cliffhanger, the arrival of Luke Baines’ iteration of Jonathan, and hopefully some really great romantic stuff for Magnus and Alec. The idea with these episodes is to find a way to ensure that the show has a proper ending … while also still leaving the door open to potentially some more storytelling in the future. There is no guarantee that the series will ever have that opportunity, but nonetheless, it is absolutely still an exciting thing to think about.
