The Bachelor: Sydney Lotuaco leaves Colton Underwood at group date

During the group date tonight, Sydney tried to get some alone time with Colton and really challenge him on some of what he was actually looking for. Unfortunately for her, it didn’t feel like she got what she was wanting from that conversation. It was at that point she realized that the best thing she could do for herself was leave. That’s not an easy choice, but she didn’t feel anything and didn’t want to string the competition along.
Do we think it was a good look for Sydney to exit now? Sure, and we also think that this does set her up well for a return on Bachelor in Paradise if she gets that invite. What we saw from her here is that she’s not going to compromise for love and she’s going to demand something from the man she’s with — she’s not going to just stick around for the sake of getting air time. If she feels like she’s reached the end of the journey, she is going to move forward and that’s totally okay.
As for whether or not we think that she is going to get that invite, we absolutely do think that she’s got a chance — she wasn’t the biggest personality all season long, but she had a memorable exit. In the world of The Bachelor, we’ve absolutely come to know that just a few minutes’ worth of content really does mean a whole lot.
