This Is Us season 4 theme revealed; what will it be?

Following a short hiatus, This Is Us season 3 is going to return on NBC on Tuesday night. Yet, for this article, we’re going to be talking about season 4! While it hasn’t been officially been renewed, we do think that this is more or less a foregone conclusion.

Now that we know that a season 4 is more than likely coming, the next burning question here is simply this: What’s the theme for the next season going to be? What sort of additional stories are we going to see This Is Us bring to the table? We want to see them continue to surprise us, but not so much that it takes away from the fantastic story that we have. At the foundation of this story, in the end, should be real, relatable emotion. It’s that beating heart that anyone out there can feel and relate to on some level.

Speaking in a new in new interview with Deadline about his plans for what lies ahead, here is some of what executive producer Dan Fogelman had to say:

 “We’ve got multiple seasons mapped out … I think this season has been a lot about redemption, but also a lot of rebirth. Next season is a season of new beginnings and restarts.”

Does that mean that some characters could get a fresh start of sorts? It does feel that way. We could get to see Kate and Toby begin their lives as parents, provided that everything does go according to plan and the show doesn’t find a way to smash our heart into pieces once more. Then, of course we have to hope that there’s also a chance to see Beth embark on an exciting new career and to see if there is something more coming for Kevin and Zoe. They’ve been together most of the season, but you do have to wonder still if it will last in the long-term.

Provided that the season 4 renewal of This Is Us happens, odds are that we will see these episodes premiere at some point in the fall.
