Death in Paradise season 8 episode 6 preview: Is Florence leaving?

Florence

Is Joséphine Jobert leaving Death in Paradise, and is the character of Florence set to die? These are questions that you are set to wonder as we get closer to season 8 episode 6 airing on BBC One next week. The show ended this past episode with a dramatic cliffhanger, one that put the life of Florence up in the air. We’re forced to wonder just what is going to be coming up, and beyond that if the rest of our Saint Marie favorites will recover from it.

While we’ve had a number of fun moments with the series as of late, it does certainly feel clear at present that this world has become quite dark — we’re bearing witness to a lot of sadness and possible tragedy, and the relationship story with Patrice has certainly turned out far different than anyone could have possibly expected.

What we can tell you right now is that there is no confirmation that Jobert is leaving the long-running series; because of that, there is at least cause for hope for the time being. We’ll come to know next week whether or not any of those hopes are valid.

Below, CarterMatt does offer the official Death in Paradise season 8 episode 6 synopsis with some other information as to what’s coming:

In the second episode of this two-part special, the Honoré police team are left stunned by another murder which is connected to the Tiana (Nicole Lecky) case.

A phone call relating to the suspect arrested in the Tiana murder investigation takes DI Mooney (Ardal O’Hanlon) and the team over to the nearby Rosalie Island to follow the new lead.

Rosalie Island resident and millionaire Ewan Boyd (Alastair Mackenzie), who owns a lucrative financial investment company, and his long-term employees and companions Frances Compton (Saskia Reeves) and Martin Stow (Angus Deayton) all fall under suspicion as they each explain that they weren’t the person who answered the mysterious phone call.

With everyone in denial, DI Mooney has his work cut out to uncover the truth – but a dark secret linked to murdered festival queen Tiana is soon revealed, which throws new light on the investigation and gives DI Mooney a new lead to follow.

With emotions running high, Ruby (Shyko Amos) encourages her uncle, Commissioner Patterson (Don Warrington), to show his emotional side.

With the team at rock bottom following the tragic and shocking events, will they be able to pull together and get justice for a victim they never expected? One thing is for certain – this could be their toughest case ever, and things will not be the same again.

Just from reading that alone, it’s clear that there is a substantial reason to worry about Florence — we just have to hope that she somehow survives her predicament and gets to the other side in one piece. We know that she’ll have the support of everyone around her if she’s able to make it to the recovery phase.
