Is Christina Ochoa leaving A Million Little Things for good?
With that being said, that doesn’t mean that she will be gone forever — as a matter of fact, she won’t be. Speaking in a new interview via TVLine, executive producer DJ Nash confirmed that you will be seeing Ochoa beyond this current season. He also added the following lightheartedly about the character’s current odyssey:
“Good or bad, our show is a soap. On some great soaps, things happen and people come back … We sent [Ashley] away, but maybe she comes back knowing a lot of Spanish.”
With this in mind, prepare to see something with Ochoa in the upcoming second season, which was recently renewed by ABC. If you don’t see much (or any) of Ochoa over the next few weeks, continue to keep these thoughts in the back of your head. The character is eventually going to resurface and with that, there’s a lot of great stuff to look forward to.
The thing to remember about the soap structure is that sometimes, there are twists and turns that can reveal themselves down the line and in rather-unexpected ways. So, even though it may seem like Ochoa’s story was largely tied up for the time being, there is something that can always come up down the woodwork to the surprise of a lot of people.
Remember that A Million Little Things is still airing new episodes Thursday nights on ABC; we certainly don’t see the popularity of this show dying down anytime soon. With its new timeslot and a lot of story momentum, things are thriving — Ashley will be missed for now, but questions surrounding her absence may lead to some other interesting questions coming up.
