Criminal Minds season 14 finale video: Prepare for the latest UnSub

The Criminal Minds season 14 finale is going to air on CBS Wednesday night, and we feel like it’s fair to say that you should go ahead and prepare yourself accordingly. This is a huge finale — one that has the potential to shake up the show in a way it never has been before.

Some of what we know about it stems from our recent interview from showrunner Erica Messer — there are huge emotional stakes within this episode, and it’s not necessarily going to be structured the same way as some other finales have been. They knew that it wouldn’t be a series finale going into production on it, so trying to wrap up every loose end isn’t necessarily the priority here. Instead, it’s about delivering a fantastic episode that fits well within the mold of what you expect from Criminal Minds — plus also something more.

The sneak peek below from the episode doesn’t necessarily give all that much away when it comes to the story ahead, and understandably so. They don’t want to give too much away! Instead, it’s just setting the stage for a crisis in Los Angeles featuring the latest UnSub, one who could have more consequences for the BAU than usual. If you think back to the promo for this episode, it features an especially tense moment for Reid and JJ. Without saying too much, that moment is important — one of many within this episode.

Of course, there are also still some happy moments coming — we’re getting to see Rossi’s wedding! He’s been through a lot on this show, so getting an opportunity for him to marry Krystall is the producers’ way of letting him have a win (and giving us a win as well!). It’s also a nice way to make this finale feel even more special — though the wedding isn’t the only big moment that you’ll be seeing throughout the finale. Hence, the warning to prepare yourself from a little earlier within this article.
