Where is Cisco on The Flash season 5? The Carlos Valdes mystery

When it comes to the story, the answer here is fairly simple: Cisco is off working on the meta-human cure, which is where he’s been for two out of the past three weeks. Still, it’s unusual that this marked the second time in the past few episodes in which we didn’t have one of the show’s original cast members make an appearance at all. It’s definitely unusual, especially when there’s another character in Joe West who has been rather MIA himself as of late.
For the time being, though, know this: Carlos Valdes isn’t taking off, at least not immediately. While we cannot speak to the long-term future of the character, he will be back and also a major part of the next new episode. Cisco has a new romance and beyond just that, he is also working to develop a new metahuman cure at the same time.
What do we miss from not having Cisco on the show? Well, for starters, a great sense of humor. He’s brought a lot of enthusiasm to STAR Labs and he also has a great alter ego in Vibe. He’s one of the more unique characters on the show in terms of his abilities and we’re certainly interested to get him back in action moving forward.
Of course, we are still at a point in which we’re very much worried about losing almost any character. We’re five seasons into this show, after all, and that is the time in which series like to make some of their big creative swings. It’s also a time in which there can be cast changes here and there. While this is a situation we’re monitoring, it’s certainly possible that the Cisco character is just taking a break from some of the action and will be prominent in the story again moving forward.
