‘Saturday Night Live’: Bruno Mars, Christina Applegate booked to host

We have already announced that Daniel Craig and Muse are going to be heading to “Saturday Night Live” this weekend; and now, we know a pair of other hosts that are going to be bringing some magic of their own to the show a little later in the month.

While one of these choices comes as hardly a shock, it’s fair to say that we are a little bit surprised by the other choice.

October 13  -Christina Applegate with musical guest Passion Pit. This is a return appearance to the show for Applegate, and the other good news here is that she is likely bring on board some of her “Up All Night” co-stars in Will Arnett and the always-fantastic Maya Rudolph. However, we do still have to ask one key question here: is she really going to boost the ratings for this show? Have you seen how badly “Up All Night” is doing lately?

October 20 – Bruno Mars. For the first time since Mick Jagger at the end of last season, we are going to have a host also double as the musical guest. When it comes to Bruno, we understand the hire. He’s a gifted entertainer and musician, and he also has proven to have a good sense of humor. With all of this being said, this is an incredibly hard gig to execute since you have so much to be thinking about on the night. Elton John and Jagger have each struggled with it in the past, and we don’t know enough about Mars’ acting experience to have a great deal of confidence in him … even if he is funny as a person.

What do you think about these hires? Be sure to share your thoughts below.
