The Resident season 2 episode 11 preview: Valentine’s Day problems

The Resident season 2

Next week, The Resident season 2 episode 11 is going to be bringing you some Valentine’s Day vibes … and also some relationship issues. Given how chaotic things were at Halloween earlier this season, one of the main takeaways that we have with this show is that they’re never going to be able to just do a normal holiday.

To be fair, we’re not altogether sure that this sort of thing even exists when you are a doctor and you have to deal with emergency situations as they come. It’s not like you’re going to suddenly have an easy day at work! For some characters in this episode, in particular those who have had some rather unfortunate times in their love life as of late, maybe the hospital will serve as a nice distraction? To others, take potentially Conrad and Nic for example, it could end up getting in the way to a certain degree.

For a little bit more information, CarterMatt has the official The Resident season 2 episode 11 synopsis for you below:

When Conrad’s attempt to surprise Nic with a lavish Valentine’s Day dinner is foiled, he gives the reservation away to someone who could really use it. Mina and Devon distract themselves from all Valentine’s celebrations by trying to figure out how their seemingly healthy neighbor has suddenly passed away. Meanwhile, Kit gives dating advice to a sex-injured patient, Irving hits a crossroads in his not-so-secret relationship with Nurse Jessica, and Bell decides to celebrate the day in the OR in the all-new “Stupid Things in the Name of Sex” episode of THE RESIDENT airing Monday, Feb. 11 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (RES-214) (TV-14 L, S, V)

If this show does ever do one of those clip-show montages down the road of some of the wackiest medical related issues for patients on Valentine’s Day, who wants to bet that we end up seeing the sex-injured patient on there? Having an episode around a holiday really, for better or for worse, sets you up in a position where you can get away with things in terms of your patients that you would never do at any other point in the year.

In getting back to the main characters, this episode could show the capacity that Conrad and Nic have for other people and also just how much they are willing to sacrifice themselves for others. These are important components that could prove essential if the two are able to take their relationship to the next level. They clearly have issues still to work through, but that’s totally where we hope this is going.
