The Resident season 2 episode 15 spoilers: Meet Mina’s mother

For those who like to think of The Resident as a character study, you’ll appreciate some of what is coming on February 18! For the upcoming episode entitled “Queens” there is quite a bit to look forward to, with getting to meet Mina’s mother pretty high up on the list. This means that we’re getting a chance to see more of where the character comes from and some of what she holds close to her. You’ll also, more than likely, see through this precisely why she puts so much pressure on her in order to be great.

Below, CarterMatt offers up the official The Resident season 2 episode 15 synopsis with some more news when it comes to what lies ahead:

Bell’s confidence in Quovadis continues to waver when the poster child for one of its medical devices, Henry Barnett (guest star Evan Whitten), is rushed back into the ER, experiencing seizure-like symptoms. Meanwhile, Mina’s past comes to light when her mother, famous Nigerian surgeon Dr. Okeke (guest star Lynn Whitfield), pays a visit to Chastain, and Conrad makes a risky move when Henry returns to the hospital in the all-new “Queens” episode of THE RESIDENT airing Monday, Feb. 18 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. With Mina’s mother being such a prolific surgeon, what that effectively means is that we’re going to have a chance to really understand how much medicine has been a part of her life since she was little.

What’s happening with Quovadis?

Well, it’s interesting, for starters, that this medical-device company is still a part of the show at this point — it’s been a huge part of the series since Julian’s arrival at the start of the season and it certainly feels as though it’s going to continue to be a part of it until the company is thwarted … at least if they ever are. We just feel like with so much attention being paid to them as a possible Big Bad, we have to be getting to a point where they are brought down a peg or two or three. It would also be somewhat fascinating if it turns out to be Dr. Bell who ends up taking them down in the end, mostly because he was so close to the company for a good chunk of the season thanks to some of their financial incentives.
