SWAT season 2 episode 14 preview: Lucifer actress to guest star!

SWAT

Next week, SWAT season 2 episode 14 is going to be bringing you a story with a lot of excitement — and a lot of guest stars. After all, throughout “The B-Team” you are going to have a chance to see everyone from former NFL stars to Lucifer alum Tricia Helfer, who is going to be playing a part that has a close connection to Hondo and his past. It’s the sort of role that certainly makes us hopeful that we could see him making some sort of appearance in the future.

Want a few more details as to what lies ahead, and how Helfer’s character gets involved in the story? Below, CarterMatt offers up the official SWAT season 2 episode 14 synopsis with some information as to what’s coming up:

“The B-Team” – Hondo reunites with an old flame, FBI Special Agent Elle Trask (Tricia Helfer), when the SWAT team works with the FBI to bring in a separatist group with weapons-grade plutonium. Also, the SWAT team worries they will lose an annual law enforcement charity competition to the Los Angeles Fire Department, on S.W.A.T., Thursday, Feb. 7 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Tricia Helfer guest stars as FBI Special Agent Ellen Trask. Former professional football players Willie McGinest, Eric Dickerson and James Harrison star as members of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

We’ve seen Helfer play characters within law enforcement before, but what makes SWAT so distinct is the intensity of some of the missions — we’re pretty sure that we will see some of that over the course of this particular episode. Beyond that, it does at least seem as though there’s going to be something a little bit lighthearted in the charity storyline.

Why are the former NFL players showing up?

This just seems to be something that CBS likes to do with many of their shows. Eddie George, for example, recently made an appearance on Magnum PI. Meanwhile, we’ve also seen Tony Gonzalez make a couple of appearances on NCIS, and there are plenty more when you dig a little bit deeper. CBS’ thinking here may just be that NFL stars are an easy way to bring in a lot of eyeballs — that makes a good bit of sense, given that we are talking here about the most popular sport in all of America. Harrison, Dickerson, and McGinest are names that the majority of football fans out there are familiar with. Granted, we’ll have to see how they fare in the acting world.
