Siren season 2 episode 3 preview: Ryn’s loyalty is questioned
Ever since the start of the season, we’ve seen Eline Powell’s character in a spot of tentative leadership. She’s someone who the other mermaids have looked to, in part due to her understanding of life on land. She’s got an understanding of how it works that the other mermaids look to — but, in the end, they may not necessarily agree with every little thing that she does. It’s because of this that we could be gearing up for one of the most chaotic episodes of the series, mostly because if Ryn is cast off by her own people, this could prove challenging for her in the long-term.
Below, CarterMatt officially has the Siren season 2 episode 3 synopsis with some additional insight as to what’s coming up next:
Ryn fights to maintain leadership of the pack when the other mermaids question her loyalties. Ben interferes in a mermaid ritual causing friction between himself and Ryn, meanwhile, Helen discovers more about her family lineage.
By the end of this episode, we should have an opportunity to see precisely what’s happening with all of the mermaids. It does seem like Ryn is also going to find herself in a tough position because of the tension that is there between her and Ben. If she’s already dealing with some trouble courtesy of her own people, the last thing she’s going to want is to also be on the outside with one of her closest humans. By the end of this episode, it’s possible that she could end up doing some soul-searching. The more we get introspection for this character, the better off the show will be — she is a character at the center of two different worlds and that position should prove to be rather interesting.
What could be coming up with Helen?
For those of you who want a little more insight into Helen’s backstory, this is your chance to potentially see a little bit of that play out. We know that there is definitely a lot of different stuff that is still to be revealed with her, and this storyline could be a foundation for it … not that we expect to get all of the answers here at all. It’s a long season and some of the discoveries could take a little while.
