Multiple cast members have now confirmed that filming on the fifteen-episode season 3 is now done, and that means that the next order of business is waiting — a lot of waiting. First, it’s waiting in order to see the show back on the air. For now, it’s waiting to learn whether or not this is the final season of the show. We’re certainly worried about its future, but worried does not equal “canceled” and there’s a big distinction there.

What we should go ahead and tell you now is that like with many other series out there, the schedule of Lethal Weapon is changing due to the State of the Union. Originally, you were going to see Cole and Murtaugh back on the air with new episodes next week, but that plan is changing a little bit now. The next new episode is coming now on Tuesday, February 12, and you will then see the remaining episodes airing on February 19 and then February 26.

Beyond that, it’s all in Fox’s hands and the #1 thing that you can do if you do want to support the show is to keep watching it live. We certainly do understand that it’s one of the more polarizing shows out there these days, but we know that there is a contingent of viewers out there who have come to appreciate the new iteration of the show with Seann William Scott. It doesn’t change the fact, though, that the ratings are down year-to-year, or that Fox is going to be losing some of its programming next season due to professional wrestling.

As for what we actually expect over the final episodes, we feel like there will be at least some sort of cliffhanger. After all, the writers may want to prepare themselves in the event that 1) the show is renewed and 2) Damon Wayans does leave, given that this has been a subject up for debate over the past few months, ever since Wayans talked about it in an interview. (That talk has cooled … at least publicly.)
