Law & Order: SVU season 20 episode 14: Ray Donovan, Daredevil alums to appear
NBC has revealed that for the upcoming February 7 episode (the fourteenth one of this season) entitled “The Flying Dutchman,” you’re going to get a chance to see Ray Donovan alum Paula Malcomson guest star in the role of Stella Russell. Meanwhile, Daredevil actress Amy Rutberg (who has also appeared recently as the Angel of Death on NCIS: New Orleans) will also be appearing as Annabeth Pearl.

02/07/2019 (10:00PM – 11:00PM) (Thursday) : As Stone (Philip Winchester) prosecutes the case of a woman who killed her abusive husband, Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and her squad wrestle with the duty of testifying against her. Also starring Ice T, Kelli Giddish and Peter Scanavino. Guest starring Paula Malcomson (Stella Russell), Nicholas Turturro (Det. Frank Bucci) and Amy Rutberg (Annabeth Pearl).
The synopsis doesn’t necessarily make it clear as to who will be playing the woman responsible for the act, but either way you’re going to be in for a good performance. Turturro’s appearance is also worth noting, especially for those of you who are Blue Bloods fans. He appeared in more than 40 episodes of that series, but has not been seen in a couple of years now. Coincidentally, there is another Blue Bloods performer in Jennifer Esposito appearing on another episode a little bit later this season — given that both shows are based in New York, we imagine that it makes a certain degree of sense for the producers to dip into as much New York talent as possible if presented with the golden opportunity to do just that.

This is not the first time in which Malcomson has appeared on the series — she last turned up more than a decade ago, playing a completely different character. We know that there are a variety of opinions out there in regards to actors playing multiple roles on a show like this but personally, we’re all for it — you want to get the best talent possible, and provided that you can separate the two characters from each other, why not use someone like Paula multiple times?
SVU returns to NBC with new episodes on Thursday, January 31.
