The Orville season 2 episode 6 preview: Claire’s personal story

Do you want to know what’s coming on The Orville season 2 episode 6? Let’s just say that this is going to be a big episode like no other for Claire. This is a chance to actually dive more into her personal life than we’ve seen in some time, and we’re always pleased to see something different and fascinating like that on the show. What we also like about it is that seemingly, the crew of the Orville is going to end up being every bit as surprised about it as we are.

The Orville crew is surprised when Claire’s personal life takes an unexpected turn, and Gordon makes an unusual grooming suggestion to Bortus in the all-new “A Happy Refrain” episode of THE ORVILLE airing Thursday, Jan. 31 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (ORV-205) (TV-14 D, L, S)

At this point in this season, it is fairly clear that The Orville is really loving the opportunity to actually try out some different stories for Bortus. Why are the writers so fascinated about this? It’s mostly simple — it has a lot to do with the simple fact that he’s got such a different backstory than anyone else. This show does love the opportunity to dive more into specific alien characters and with Alara gone, he’s now one of the most important and well-known ones.

As for this particular grooming idea, it’s probably going to be something played for comedic purposes — you can’t quite call The Orville strictly a comedy, but at the same time there is a wide abundance of comedic moments you tend to get a chance to see from one week to the next. We’ve got a good feeling that this is probably going to be some serious or at least some heartfelt stuff coming up with some of the other characters. This show is almost always about a healthy mix, one way or another.
