Blue Bloods season 9 episode 14 spoilers: Danny vs. Jamie and more
Before we start to analyze anything, let’s kick things off with the Blue Bloods season 9 episode 14 synopsis that CarterMatt has for you below:
“My Brother’s Keeper” – It’s Reagan versus Reagan when Danny goes against Jamie’s direct order during a hostage negotiation. Also, Nicky asks Erin for help when her friend is in jeopardy of losing his scholarship because of a crime he didn’t commit, and Frank helps a distraught officer who accidentally shot an innocent girl, on BLUE BLOODS, Friday, Feb. 8 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
It’s obvious why the Danny / Jamie conflict is at the heart of this episode, largely because it’s so rare that the two are at odds and have a storyline that actually crosses outside of the dinner table. It’s also a big deal when they do fight — brothers bicker, but a lot of them often get it out of the way when they are kids. Jamie outranks Danny now, and a part of the conflict may just be based on the fact that this is a new situation and a different dynamic than what either one of them are familiar with. For the vast majority of their lives, Danny has been more of the alpha personality between the two.
As for the other storylines, it seems like helping people in need is essential. Erin is going to potentially look into a case for the sake of her daughter, while Frank could help someone wrestle with their guilt. This story in particular could show the conscience of cops in the way you don’t often see it. While there are some out there that are overly aggressive and use excessive force, there are others who commit accidents and then have to live the rest of their lives with some of that guilt and pain hanging over their heads. Frank’s been through a lot, and he may have some wisdom to share.
