Legacies episode 9 preview: A monster ruins exams

As we get closer to Legacies episode 9 airing on The CW in one week’s time, we should make one thing very clear: We know that there are a number of people out there who would probably love for a monster to come in and completely destroy their exams.

Yet, that’s not exactly the case here — these characters probably crave an element of normalcy, and to make matters worse it’s possible that this monster ruins the steady lead-up period and they have to end up taking all of the exams anyway. This is what we like to call a worst-case scenario for virtually everyone involved.

Are we expecting this episode to be crazy? Absolutely, but that’s also a part of the fun! We live for these opportunities to see all sorts of chaos and to experience something a little bit different than anything that we have before in this world. A big part of what makes Legacies the show it happens to be is that you don’t know just what sort of craziness is going to lurk around almost every corner.

YOUR WORST NIGHTMARE – During a stressful week of exams, Hope (Danielle Rose Russell), Rafael (Peyton Alex Smith), Landon (Aria Shahghasemi) and MG’s (Quincy Fouse) attempts to study get thwarted by the arrival of a new monster who feeds off their worst fears. Meanwhile, Hope struggles with a secret she’s been keeping from Landon. Matthew Davis also stars. Darren Grant directed the episode written by Penny Cox (#113). Original airdate 1/31/2019.

This episode could prove to be a key one just when it comes to the Hope – Landon relationship figuring itself out. It almost doesn’t feel like we’re doing the messiness of this relationship enough credit by calling it just “messy.” It’s all over the map! There are some clear feelings here, but they are morphed and messed-up mostly by the fact that these two characters both have darkness within them and have respectively each gone through some incredibly terrifying stuff. Maybe if they get on the same page, they will be able to make it through more to the other side … we just know that this is not going to be the altogether easiest thing to do in the world with everything that each one has endured.
