The Resident season 2 episode 12 preview: ‘Fear Finds a Way’

The Resident

There are some interesting things about The Resident season 2 episode 12 on paper, but the title for it has to be among them: “Fear Finds a Way.” What does that mean? It’s certainly an ominous-sounding way to describe an episode, given that it signals that, one way or another, we are going to see characters eventually subjected to the idea that fear takes over.

We suppose that to a certain extent, it’s true. Fear is one of humanity’s greatest instincts, and it can find a way to latch on to you and attack in a way in which you do not expect. In order to succeed at the hospital, Conrad and Nic may have to constantly overcome their own fears, while also tackling the fears of others. Every single patient more than likely enters the hospital with a certain fear that somehow, they may not be able to find their way back out.

Below, CarterMatt does offer up the official The Resident season 2 episode 12 synopsis with some more news as to what’s coming:

When a nasty flu season turns out to be masking a terribly infectious disease, Chastain must race to quarantine and diagnose infected patients. While Conrad, Nic and Alec work tirelessly on Meg (guest star Dot-Marie Jones), who was Nic’s favorite guard from her stint in prison, Devon and the others treat Sam (guest star Michael Rady), a love-sick patient with flu-like symptoms. Mina finds herself testing Quovadis medical devices in an effort to defend Dr. AJ Austin, who, feeling responsible for the death of a patient, is serving penance by staying away from the OR. Meanwhile, Conrad is prepared to take the next step with Nic, but finds that she may not be as ready in the all-new “Fear Finds A Way” episode of THE RESIDENT airing Monday, Jan. 28 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (RES-212) (TV-14 L, V)

From a guest-star perspective, you have two great performers in this episode in Jones and Rady. From a relationship standpoint, meanwhile, we are shaking in our boots. Why have something possibly-negative happen with Conrad and Nic now? There’s something electric about the two when things are working, but there is obviously some sort of issue that could become something more. It’s almost like an illness; without proper treatment, it could fester and danger could spread.
