Celebrity Big Brother 2: When will the live feeds begin?

Both CBS and the live feeds themselves (there’s a countdown present if you visit them) have both officially confirmed that the feeds will begin following the Tuesday airing of the show on the West Coast. That means that around 9:00 p.m. Pacific time or midnight on the East Coast, you’ll be able to see some of the first continuous action. CBS does it this way in order to ensure that there is a substantial reason to tune in to the start of the season — and, beyond that, to give the houseguests some time in which to acclimate.
The only season of the US version of the show that wasn’t structured this way was the internet-only Big Brother: Over the Top, which was certainly entertaining if not strange. There was something fascinating about watching all of the people enter the game for the first time and get to know some of the other players. That’s most likely never going to happen for a regular edition of the show. In some ways, we’re grateful to have live feeds at all for the celebrity version of the show, given that fact that this is the sort of series where some stars may be nervous about being watched every second of the day. Granted, this is probably a non-negotiable for CBS during the casting process, thanks in part to some of the money that they make off of CBS All Access subscriptions for the period of time in which the live feeds are around.
We’ll of course be around tomorrow following the second episode to cover the live feeds, both in written as well as video form on our YouTube channel. While Celebrity Big Brother may be a reasonably short season of the show, it’s still so much better than having no Big Brother at all. While we don’t think the cast is chock full of home runs, there are some fun players in the mix and we think that it could make for a pretty interesting season.
