The Good Doctor season 2 episode 14 spoilers: The story of a face donation

The Good Doctor season 2 episode 14 will be carrying with it the title of “Faces,” and we can go ahead and tell you that this story will be a painful one. It’s going to be focusing on a challenging situation, one that forces Dr. Andrews and some other people at the St. Bonaventure Hospital to ask grieving parents a question that nobody may be comfortable with. Yet, in doing so, they may be able to help someone else.

Dr. Andrews tries to convince a grieving family to donate their teenage daughter’s face to another young girl whose face was horribly disfigured in an accident.

It’s fairly obvious as to why this will be a challenge. Faces equate identity, and this family likely wants to remember their daughter the way she was. Dr. Andrews and the rest of the staff can’t just tell these people how they should feel, but they certainly are going to have an inherent bias. They are going to want to help the young girl with a disfigured face in hopes of giving her a better life.

The issue is that Shaun Murphy is not altogether capable of nuance sometimes, and if he is involved discussing this situation with the parents, it could end up leading to a rather-tense situation.

One other thing to think about…

Following this episode, you are going to be getting the arrival of Daniel Dae Kim to the show in a critical role. The executive producer will be playing a new Chief of Surgery named Dr. Jackson Han, and he is someone who doesn’t hold back and could have a contentious relationship with Shaun. You do have to wonder if there is something during “Faces” that leads to him arriving, or if that just comes around organically without some sort of advance warning.

Either way, it does feel clear at this point that The Good Doctor season 2 episode 14 is definitely one to mark on your calendars as we start to look ahead.
