These two siblings are the driving force behind one of the show’s most-dangerous acts: A roller-skating trick-act that involves copious amounts of spinning, stunt-work, and near constant danger. One wrong step and someone gets seriously hurt. Yet, they’ve been doing this for a long time and the fact that they regularly perform now in Las Vegas makes it so that they’ve got plenty of practice.
There are two parts of this performance that stand out to us more than anything else: The part where Emily is balancing herself entirely on Billy’s head, and then the part at the end where she grabs hold of his beard and uses that mostly as her only way to stay connected to him. There are a lot of different reasons, we suppose, for growing the sort of beard that Billy has, but this one is the most creative.
Can an act like this actually make it to the finals? With this particular iteration of the show, we do think that just about anything is possible. Deadly Games shook up the traditional paradigm this week and proved that there’s room for so many more types of acts outside of singing and dancing to make it really far on a show like this. We certainly think that it’s possible Billy & Emily could get there, but the fact that their audition was “leaked” (NBC’s term, not ours) in advance does hamper some of their chances. There’s yet to be an act teased in advance who ended up actually making it to the finale.
Bonus preview
At the bottom of this article (via TVLine), you can see Paul Potts come back and bring some of what he does best to the table: Opera singing that brings everyone to their feet. We’ve said this before, but this guy is a true pro who can do something almost no one can. The only way he doesn’t make it to the finale is if the judges just don’t want an opera singer there. We should note that his act wasn’t teased in full, so it’s a different sort of situation that the “leaks” that NBC has been putting out.
