Law & Order: SVU season 20 episode 13 return date: A Romeo & Juliet story?

Want to know the Law & Order: SVU season 20 episode 13 return date over at NBC? We come bearing some more details on that subject within!

Let’s start things off here, though, with a reminder of some news that not everyone out there may want to hear: There is no new episode airing on the network next week. You are going to be waiting until Thursday, January 31 to see what’s next in a story entitled “A Story of More Woe.” For those of you who are Shakespeare fans, there’s a good chance that you know what this is in reference to: Romeo & Juliet. It’s one of the famous closing lines at the end of the play, and that certainly does suggest a little bit of tragedy that could be coming in this episode. (Of course, SVU is known for its fair share of tragedy — it would be rather unusual in the event the show didn’t go in that direction.)

Beyond the Romeo & Juliet title, though, there’s something else worth noting here: This is the second straight season in which the thirteenth episode has been a Shakespeare reference. Last year, it was “The Undiscovered Country” — a reference to Hamlet. This also ended up being a farewell episode for Raul Esparza and his character of Barba. Of course, this does sound some sort of mental signal-flare that maybe Barba could be returning in 20×13, but that’s just a personal wish more so than it is anything else.

NBC has, as of this writing, yet to release a synopsis for this episode — we don’t have a whole lot to go on just yet, though we hope that there is some more information that comes out via a promo. (Hopefully, NBC actually releases one for the episode following the conclusion of tonight’s episode.)

About that promo…

Suffice it to say, it’s interesting. The episode seems to be about two young girls, one who claims that she had to do something drastic in order to protect her sister. Yet, is it possible that these kids are actually criminals? Something apparently is amiss about their story, and that is the foundation for whatever the case will be as a whole.
