The Big Bang Theory season 12 episode 14 air date speculation
The bad news here is clearly that you’ll be waiting for at least two weeks to see the CBS sitcom back on the air. There is no new episode next week, as the network is saving some of their stories for sweeps — a key part of the year for them when it comes to ratings. The network wants to get their money’s worth when it comes to putting new episodes on the air in a super-specific period of time and with this being the final season of the show they want to go out with a ratings bang so to speak.
All signs point towards The Big Bang Theory returning to the air on Thursday, January 31 — that is not 100% confirmed as of yet, but it should be worth noting that this is the first day of February sweeps. Yes, it is a little strange that sweeps is kicking off in January, but that’s just the way that it’s happening this year.
As for what you can expect, we think that almost every episode is going to be critical towards building to the end of the season. Maybe we’re going to see Sheldon and Amy find some significant success with their new theory, or maybe we’ll see some personal revelations in their relationship. We know from Young Sheldon, after all, that Sheldon does eventually become a father — it’s just a question as to when that actually happens.
When it comes to the other characters, we’re prepared to get more closure when it comes to Raj’s personal life and also, of course, some more notable guest stars. We’d like to see a number of familiar faces return to The Big Bang Theory before the series comes to a close. Look at things this way — we’re past the halfway point of the season now, and the writers are probably trying their best to include almost every different character possible. This is the time for them to highlight stories that they’ve wanted to tell for the better part of the past several years, but have not been able to do so for one reason or another. They can run through many of their remaining ideas, and then provide a series finale that is warm, celebratory, and then also sentimental.
Beyond episode 14, we expect that there will be some new episodes of The Big Bang Theory throughout the month of February and we will be with you every step of the way with previews and more show discussion.
