01/23/2019 (08:00PM – 09:00PM) (Wednesday) : Dr. Halstead rushes to rescue Dr. Manning after she is involved in a Medevac helicopter crash. The personal drama between Dr. Rhodes and Dr. Bekker boils over. Dr. Charles and Dr. Choi work to help a patient come to terms with their addiction. April helps Elsa deal with the loss of her first patient. TV-14

We definitely think that the Chicago Med production team wants you to be very much concerned for the Natalie character entering this episode, and for good reason given that there have been people who have departed this show through a wide array of means — we’ve also seen the departure of one major character this season already in Dr. Sarah Reese, though she was written out of the show rather than killed off. Anything is possible, but we’re not overly concerned at this very moment. For starters, there’s been zero indication that Torrey is leaving this season. Also, it would be exceptionally cruel to kill off Dr. Manning right after Will got back from protective custody.

As for the other storylines…

We think that Connor and Ava’s storyline is going to be an especially important one for the future of their relationship, largely because they’ve been so combustible and have went through quite a bit already together. Sooner or later, you do have to think that they are going to hit a breaking point and it’s going to be hard for them to come back from it. Are we getting close to that point right now?

Meanwhile, Elsa is going to have the right person on her side in April as she struggles with losing a patient. She’s one of the most empathetic people on the show and while she’s not a doctor, she does certainly understand the pain of loss.
