The Flash season 5 episode 11 video: A meta-human – Cicada war begins

Flash season 5 episode 2

When The Flash season 5 episode 11 airs on The CW next week, there is one thing you should know: Some of the meta-humans in Central City are not backing down from Cicada.

The promo below amplifies what’s going to be a central struggle at the heart of this episode: Cicada is still out there. Not only that, but his most-recent showdown with The Flash seems to be making him all the more invested in trying to kill meta-humans as soon as humanly possible. He has more of a vendetta now against Barry, and that vendetta is only going to grow the moment that he takes on XS and injures her. Because Cicada is immune to meta powers, he’s able to hurt her in a way that she cannot recover from immediately. That’s going to have Barry seeing red … which is probably why “Seeing Red” is the title for this episode.

Rather than back down from some of the Big Bad’s threats, apparently we are going to see some of the meta-humans in this episode take the fight back to Cicada hoping to stop him before anything worse happens. They’re going to have to defeat him as humans rather than metas, which isn’t going to be anywhere near as easy. Still, we do think that this story is due some sort of escalation, and we need to see something more from Cicada as a villain if he’s really going to make it to the end of the season.

There’s still a nagging part of us that wonders whether Cicada could be wrapped up around episode 18 or so, leading to the big reveal that the Reverse-Flash is back in the past and causing chaos. For now, it seems like he has convinced Nora in the future to work with him some more, making it clear that he’s somehow changed. It’s almost baffling that she would be willing to see past some of what he’s done, but this is probably in part due to a history that we haven’t fully seen play out just yet.
