The Gifted season 2 episode 13 preview: What is Polaris going to do?

Next week, The Gifted season 2 episode 13 is going to be airing on Fox — even if it is doing so on somewhat of an island. It’s not airing, for the first time this season, alongside Lethal Weapon. The reason for that is fairly simple: This show has a slightly larger order and because of that, it needs to find a way to end at the same exact time next month. With that, we’re getting an episode next week and it feels as though this one will be exciting.

What’s worth checking out here? Think in terms of a few different things. For example, we’re going to be seeing Lauren do everything that she can in order to avoid giving into darkness. Meanwhile, Polaris gets a good sense of an attack that is coming to the White House — a culmination to the Inner Circle storyline and struggle from most of the season — and she is going to do just about everything in her power to stop it. This is an episode that will force people into a place where their allegiances are tested and, beyond that, where big moves are made. Anytime you are this close to the end of a given season, you have to think that you’re going to see things escalate / spiral more and more out of control.

Lauren stops sleeping so she can avoid the forces in her dreams pushing her towards joining Andy and giving in to her dark side. Glow is in trouble after being shot by the Purifiers, and Blink convinces the Morlocks to let Caitlin save Glow. Meanwhile, Polaris learns the details of what Reeva is planning, and Reed helps Lauren fight off her dreams in the all-new “teMpted” episode of THE GIFTED airing Tuesday, Jan. 22nd on FOX.

One of the things that you obviously have to remember with The Gifted is that we’re, more than likely, witnessing the end of the show this year. Because of that, you want to hope that the series is building towards some sort of epic, exciting conclusion. That’s why we are crossing our fingers and hoping for a conclusion that is fun, exciting, and different than anything that we’ve had a chance to see to date. We want something that allows this show to go out with a bang.
