What we’ve come to know about the medical-device company to date is that they are basically the show’s version of the mafia and will do virtually anything that they can in order to make as much money as possible. They have no problem bribing doctors, and clearly they have no issue disposing of problems (or even people) that are in their way. Apparently, they may also have no problem throwing people under the bus.

When a medical device fails on a former Chastain employee, an investigation is opened up, which pits Dr. AJ Austin against Quovadis. As Mina and Bell work to get to the bottom of what went wrong, Devon distracts himself with another patient who’s experiencing mysterious stomach pains. Meanwhile, Nic forms a bond with her new partner at the clinic (guest star Miles Gaston Villanueva) and Conrad’s relationship with the Barnett family (guest stars Evan Whitten and Daniella Alonso) continues to grow in the all-new “Operator Error” episode of THE RESIDENT airing Monday, Jan. 21 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (RES-211) (TV-14 L, V)
We think the title for this episode is a reference to what’s going on with AJ and Quovadis, as it is likely that the company is going to try to blame either the patient or the Raptor himself for what went wrong. It’s another way for them to shirk responsibility for what is one of their company’s own failures. As for whether or not they are going to be successful in doing this, well we know that AJ is a formidable opponent, so good luck to them.
As for the other storylines in this episode, we think what’s going on with Nic and Conrad could have some long-term ramifications, mostly in that the two of them could be getting pulled in very different directions. With them having so many commitments at the moment and their schedules being so busy, it wouldn’t be a shock if their relationship gets a little strained.
