Call the Midwife season 8 episode 2 preview: Violet considers politics

Call the Midwife season 8

Curious as to what lies ahead on Call the Midwife season 8 episode 2? Well, for starters, you should prepare to see the show do what it does best! This upcoming episode is going to give you a chance to see a number of emotional stories catering to many different characters — both established and also new. This is a series with a rich tapestry and a wide array of different people that it can add to the fold more or less whenever they want.

For this upcoming episode, it appears as though the characters of Lucille and also Violet are going to be in the spotlight — in particular, signs point towards Violet considering a big move in regards to her future. check out the Call the Midwife season 8 episode 2 synopsis for more:

Lucille (Leonie Elliott) is deeply concerned by the living conditions of her elderly patient Clarice Milgrove (played by Annette Crosbie).

Clarice, who has a malodorous leg ulcer, is a hoarder who lives alone among towering piles of rubbish, books and tins of food.

Sister Hilda (Fenella Woolgar) faces a steep learning curve when a newly arrived Ghanaian family are found to be afflicted with a mystery illness.

Elsewhere, Violet Buckle (Annabelle Apsion) determines to serve her community by running for local councillor. But Fred (Cliff Parisi) is not so pleased, convinced that his Civil Defence Corps work will be more beneficial to the area than any life in politics.

In theory, it does make a certain degree of sense for Call the Midwife to consider pushing the story in a political direction for Violet, largely due to the fact that she has been so involved in the larger Poplar community for some time now. It just makes sense for the series to want to push this story to another level and give us a chance to really explore what this would look like … provided that it really lasts for a long period of time. If Fred doesn’t want her to do it, that may keep it from happening unless the two come to some sort of agreement.

As for what else we’re getting a chance to see, it’s obvious from the Sister Hilda story that Call the Midwife is not going to be moving things along slowly when it comes to the new characters. The producers are going to be throwing people into the mix almost right away, and that may mean that there is somewhat of a learning curve that they have to be prepared to tackle.
