Legacies episode 9 spoilers: Facing your worst fears

“What Was Hope Doing in Your Dreams” is the title for Legacies episode 9 airing on January 31. That’s fitting, since early indications we have right now suggest that dreams and fears are going to be a huge part of this story.

So what is going to be coming up in this episode specifically? Check out the official Legacies episode 9 synopsis for more:

YOUR WORST NIGHTMARE – During a stressful week of exams, Hope (Danielle Rose Russell), Rafael (Peyton Alex Smith), Landon (Aria Shahghasemi) and MG’s (Quincy Fouse) attempts to study get thwarted by the arrival of a new monster who feeds off their worst fears. Meanwhile, Hope struggles with a secret she’s been keeping from Landon. Matthew Davis also stars. Darren Grant directed the episode written by Penny Cox (#113). Original airdate 1/31/2019.

While we don’t necessarily know a heck of a lot about this episode at the moment, we do know this: This feels on paper like the sort of Legacies episode that the show really should be doing. We want to see this show take on things that are both creepy, entertaining, and also appropriate for these characters. They are high-school students and with that, they should be focusing on the sort of things that any people their age would, like exams and relationships. They just have to add on top of it all sorts of other problems, whether it be dealing with monsters or trying to find a way to handle their worst fears being out in the open.

We think that Legacies, perhaps more so than any other show on The CW at the moment, has a real chance of actually getting better and better as time goes on. We’re only going to get more invested in these characters as time goes on, especially as Legacies understands more of what viewers like about it. When you think about the show’s growth, one of the things that is so interesting about it is that Legacies didn’t really have a traditional pilot — the closest thing that they had was an episode of The Originals that gave us some hints as to what it could be. That means that it’s a little bit behind the development process from some other shows this year — nonetheless, it’s still finding a way to be entertaining! That’s optimism for the future.
