Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 6 episode 2 preview: Hitchcock & Scully’s story

Following tonight’s premiere Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 6 episode 2 will be arriving on NBC in one week’s time. Beyond that, we’re also going to have a chance to see a story that many people have probably been looking forward to for quite some time. The episode is entitled “Hitchcock & Scully,” and the title here really says quite a bit about what you can expect to see. These two characters have been an essential part of this show for quite some time now, even if they often don’t command a lot of the limelight.

We’ve learned little things about them over the years, including that A) they are great with paperwork and B) that they are terrible in the field. On this upcoming episode, you’re going to get a good sense as to one of their most notable cases from the past. Check out the official Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 6 episode 2 synopsis below for more:

01/17/2019 (09:00PM – 09:30PM) (Thursday) : Jake and Charles investigate a case of Hitchcock and Scully from the 1980s. Meanwhile, Amy’s uniformed officers and Terry’s detectives fight over limited resources. TV-14 D, L

The comedy from this episode is going to be clearly twofold. For starters, we’ll have a great chance to see Jake and Boyle work together to piece together what breadcrumbs are there from Hitchcock and Scully’s past. In this case, they could be actual breadcrumbs knowing these two. Meanwhile, the other source of comedy here is clearly going to come from seeing Amy and Terry go toe-to-toe over resources. There aren’t a lot of them out there most likely and they are going to have to make do with whatever they have.

What the show has done a great job at over the years is making it seem like all of these characters are moving forward in their careers, they’ve also cleverly found a way for them to be involved at the Nine-Nine. That was always the concern with Captain Holt potentially becoming Commissioner in particular — there was some sort of fear that he wouldn’t be on the show as much. They’ve found a way to keep this character around, even if it required him to wear a hilarious series of tank-tops tonight.

We’re excited for what’s coming nest, and beyond that we’re equally excited to see what the ratings are tomorrow. Hopefully, Brooklyn Nine-Nine keeps going in a positive direction!
