Legends of Tomorrow season 4 episode 9 return date news; Arrow moving
Today, The CW confirmed that on Monday, April 1 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time, the glorious superhero show is going to return in order to wrap up its current batch of episodes. That means that we’ve got almost three months to go before we get a better sense of what’s going on with some of our favorite time-traveler aboard the Waverider.
Is it a shame that the network is putting one of their greatest shows on ice? Absolutely, especially since there are still so many questions that we’ve got. As much fun as we’ve had watching this season, we do think that there needs to be some sort of acceleration with the story of the Big Bad, who to date remains reasonably ambiguous — at least more so than we would personally prefer.
What is a little surprising with the Legends of Tomorrow return date at the moment is the timeslot, given that the series is moving up an hour and swapping timeslots with Arrow, which will be airing now at 9:00. Why the change? It’s possibly a move to boost Legends of Tomorrow and its ratings, given that 8:00 tends to be the more lucrative timeslot. We do think that both shows will be renewed, though, pending some huge drop in the spring. Arrow is basically a lock thanks to the Crisis On Infinite Earths crossover event — we’d like to think the Legends of Tomorrow is, as well, but we recognize the fact that there are no guarantees there since it wasn’t a part of Elseworlds.
When will more Legends of Tomorrow details be revealed?
Alas, probably not until March given that there aren’t many reasons for info to come out until then. We just hope that whenever they do, there’s a nice promo push for the show since it is imaginative, fun, lighthearted, and different than many others that are out there. It deserves whatever press it gets just because it gets the whole point of superhero shows perhaps more than any other: Having fun and staying imaginative more than anything else. That’s going to keep people watching.
