In the video below, you can see the season 1 champ back on the show with a cover of A Great Big World’s “Say Something,” a performance that she totally rocks with some power, some high notes, and also the perfect amount of emotion. It’s so fascinating that she is an underdog entering this competition, mostly because of the fact that she is the original winner of the franchise — yet, here she is. It’s been a long time since viewers have seen her. As a matter of fact, she was a little kid the last time she appeared! She’s been through a great deal since then, including a serious vocal-cord injury that made it, at least for a time, seem as though her music career could be in some jeopardy. She’s been able to bounce back since then and for her, this performance was a huge part of her comeback.
While it’s hard to say just what her future is going to hold after this performance, we do think that this proves further why she won the series and also just how much she is capable of if she does end up getting some sort of record deal. She does continue to work hard and that is really the thing that any singer needs more than anything else. The biggest thing that she is going to be up against on the show tonight is Susan Boyle, given that she’s an even more famous singer who is going to command a lot of attention from the judges and the audience. We anticipate that the producers are going to save Boyle for the end of the show, but rest assured that we think Bianca is a contender. She shows a lot with this performance, including range and the ability to connect to a song that has been covered a lot over the years. Finding some sort of new, fertile ground with it is not a particularly-easy feat.
