Celebrity Big Brother 2 rumors: Is Dina Lohan joining the cast?

According to a new report via The Blast, an offer has been made to Lindsay Lohan’s mother Dina Lohan in order to come on board. She could be paid $100,000 for the appearance, in addition to any sort of prize that she could be handed along the way.
Could this casting actually happen? Well, we do understand on some level while she could in demand in theory — Celebrity Big Brother wants people who will generate headlines and clearly, she has some stories to tell. Yet, at the same time we do wonder how many casual viewers she will actually bring in, and there is a part of us that prefers celebrities with their own notoriety rather than ones who are just related to someone even more famous.
Remember this
Even if there is an offer out there to Dina Lohan that is no guarantee that she’ll be cast. For one, she has to accept said offer, and we feel like producers put out way more offers than there are spots in the cast so that there are a lot of different options for them.
We imagine that from a casting perspective, the hardest problem that Celebrity Big Brother runs into is trying to find celebrities who are both available and interested. It’s often difficult to ask these people to take months out of their lives in order to do the show and then beyond that, they still have to be willing to be on live feeds and away from their cell phones. Given the challenges of doing this show, it’s remarkable that the network got some of the people that they did for the first season; we’ll see what happens when season 2 premieres a little bit later this month.
Also, what we’re hoping for
No matter who ends up being cast, we really hope that they are people who are active, engaged, and willing to play the game. While we did get some comedy out of Metta World Peace threatening to quit for most of last season, we don’t want to watch a bunch of people who are interested in bailing at every possible opportunity.
