In the video below our personal one, you can get a small sense of what it is like for Katherine Heigl working on the show as Samantha Wheeler. She presents a sunny, positive outlook on the show and her cast … while Rick Hoffman (Louis Litt) does his best to be ridiculous and make faces in the background. It’s a nice reminder that this is a cast that really does enjoy each other, even after some of the changes, and it’s one of the big reasons why they are still on the air after so many years.
As for where the show could go now moving forward into the new year, at the top of the list is going to be conflict involving all of the name partners. With Samantha and Alex Williams (Dule Hill) now attached to the firm in a more substantial way than ever before, they’re going to have a pretty substantial say on different cases and issues. With that in mind, we have a feeling that there are going to be many different conflicts. That’s what happens when you throw people with these sort of super-strong opinions all in the same room together.
One other thing to remember is that Louis Litt is now officially the person running the show as managing partner. That was a collective decision made at the end of last season, but we definitely do wonder if it’s a decision that some of these characters will regret in the reasonably-near future. This is a guy who does have an interesting relationship with power — he can easily make himself drunk with it to the point where everyone around him starts to have some serious regrets.
Of course, beyond the new promotions we imagine that Suits is going to highlight some new cases, legal battles, and also a new love interest for Donna. Given that the show’s season 9 future is still in doubt, we hope that there’s some closure to at least some of the show’s biggest stories … including whether or not we could see Harvey and Donna get together at some point in the future.
