As we gear up for new Madam Secretary episodes in 2019, what should we expect to see with the story moving forward? That’s what this article is all about!

Let’s start things off here with a reminder of what happened in the first part of the recent 100th episode event — Elizabeth McCord did everything in her power in order to ensure that she could stop family separations at the border. This was a controversial policy from the Governor of Arizona and she was very much intent on finding a way to cease it. Unfortunately, in the first part she wasn’t successful — instead, she ended up getting arrested after making a speech outside a detention center. That’s where we left off, and that brings us to our list!
Seeing Elizabeth freed – That feels obviously, but it does still need to be said. She’s so much more effective out of prison, but along the way we do also want to ensure that she can stop this policy and achieve her goal.
The Presidential announcement – We’re seeing in the real world right now people starting to form exploratory committees — which really means that you are running for office. It really feels about the right time for Elizabeth to do the same thing and start taking some more steps in that direction — including announcing a campaign manager!
A big Kat Sandoval story – We didn’t get to see anywhere near enough of Sara Ramirez in the first part of the season and that definitely needs to change moving forward. Luckily, we do think that there is an opportunity for that to happen, mostly due to the fact that we’re in a state right now in Arizona where she has a history.
Updates on the McCord kids – For example, are we going to see more of Stevie and Dmitri, even if supposedly he’s never going to see her again? We do think that there’s a chance of something somehow happening here. Beyond that, we imagine that there could be some interesting stuff to mine when it comes to Jason’s future given where he is in life.
International crises – This is at the forefront of the show, and we definitely do not want to see this change anytime soon. In the midst of everything else, we still need a chance to explore some of this show’s bread and butter.
