New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 2019 lineup: Christina Aguilera, Bastille, more

Tomorrow night marks the annual New Year’s Rockin’ Eve broadcast over on ABC and as you would expect, there’s a lot to look forward to. Of course, there is the celebration of 2019’s arrival, but at the same time also some memorable performances featuring a number of super-notable names.

Do you want to know some of the headliners from New York City? The ABC synopsis really spells much of it out for you:

[Recently], dick clark productions and ABC announced one of the world’s best-selling pop music icons, Christina Aguilera, will perform for a live audience of more than one million people just minutes before the ball drops on “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2019.” Aguilera last performed on the show in 2007, and this year she will be joined by Bastille, Dan + Shay and New Kids On The Block in the hours leading up to the 2019 countdown. This marks multiplatinum artists Dan + Shay’s first appearance on the show, and Bastille’s second, while pop super group New Kids On The Block will take the New Year’s Rockin’ Eve stage for the second time—having last performed in 2011 with Backstreet Boys. America’s biggest celebration of the year will take place on MONDAY, DEC. 31, beginning at 8:00 p.m. EST on the ABC Television Network. Additional performers will be announced soon.

In addition to the telecast from Times Square, you will of course have a chance to see performances from some other parts of the world, as well, as ABC tries their best in order to make this into a truly-global experience. We’re hoping that there will be some chances from top to bottom to see memorable, fun moments, and also a chance to actually reflect a little bit on the year.

(Of course, we’ll admit that to us, the best live shows are the ones where something silly, fun, and totally unexpected happens — these are the moments that bring us together.)

Also, isn’t it perfect that we’re getting to see New Kids turn up during the show? After all, it makes sense for Donnie Wahlberg to be there alongside his wife Jenny McCarthy! (Plus, with Donnie on Blue Bloods he is more or less a staple of New York City these days.)
