For the better part of most of tonight’s episode, we bore witness to a man desperate to find Bridget and also keep her safe. The situation with the cops is getting out of control, and right when Ray thought that he was about to find her, that metaphorical door slammed in a big way in his face. with that, he now faces a situation where he is going to have to track her down once more before something happens to her. He’s going to need some help, and that is where the surprise of this season comes into play.
The Donovans are a dysfunctional family — let’s make that abundantly clear. However, amidst all of that dysfunction, these characters do find a way to somehow work together when the chips are down. This is where we could be in this episode. Bridget’s an innocent in so many ways here and nobody wants to see anything happen to her. Because of that, we’re going to be seeing this crew get together in order to ensure that the person they care about is safe.

It’s all-out war between cops and family, as the Donovans band together to save one of their own. Running out of options, Mac faces a difficult decision.
Is Mac going to be the person who can turn the tide for some of this story? This may be in part what Ray need to count on. He’s the man in the middle at the moment — he has a relationship with Ray and he certainly doesn’t hate Bridget, but he’s also bound in part by duty and also fear. He doesn’t really know what will happen to his own family if he doesn’t go along with the plan. Can Ray actually protect him? That’s something that he will at least be forced to think about, whether it’s now or in the finale that follows.
Given that there are only two more episodes to come this season, though, one thing feels clear — we’re going to continue to see some of the tension ratcheted up to all-new levels. Get ready for an intense, dangerous final two episodes of the season.
