The title for this episode is “He Betrayed Us Both,” which certainly sounds like a line that Annalise would say to Gabriel. Perhaps this is her way of bonding with him — or, at the very least, making it clear that the two have some common ground when it comes to Sam. He didn’t exactly have a tendency to make friends of people close to him, did he?
Anyhow, CarterMatt has the official How to Get Away with Murder season 5 episode 9 synopsis for you below with some more information on what’s next:
“Now that Connor and Oliver have tied the knot, the crew must deal with the consequences of the wedding night’s murder; and Annalise is forced to reckon with secrets from her past.”
Isn’t it nice that Connor and Oliver had at least a few hours where they didn’t think that the entire world was in flames? Well, all of that seems to be over now since somehow, they’re probably going to get roped into what happened with Miller and dealing with the aftermath of it. That could be a key theme for the rest of the season in general since once again, there’s a murder that needs to be washed away from the world. Sooner or later, things are going to blow up for some of the responsible parties on this show; it may not be now, but it could be at some point down the road.
The most interesting thing when it comes to Miller’s death is that it’s still not 100% that he is guilty of what Bonnie thought; there’s enough ambiguity here that she could find out some information otherwise and carry a good bit of guilt with her over what happened that fateful night in the snow.
