Manifest episode 10 spoilers: First look at ‘Crosswinds’
Luckily, it does appear as though this episode (entitled “Crosswinds”) is up for the challenge. This is a story that will put the focus on Michaela and her latest calling, one that will test both her and those close to her. For starters, it’s going to push her relationship with Jared, and beyond just that, it’s also going to cause Ben to wonder what all of it means. 01/07/2019 (10:00PM – 11:00PM) (Monday) : Michaela’s (Melissa Roxburgh) mystifying, next-level calling launches her on a mission that brings her relationship with Jared (J.R. Ramirez) to a head. Determined to protect his family, Ben (Josh Dallas) explores an alternate meaning to Michaela’s calling that leads him to a new alliance and a powerful new adversary. Cal’s (Jack Messina) struggle with Ben’s absence from home forces the Stones into an agonizing confrontation that could alter the family’s fabric forever. Also starring Athena Karkanis, Luna Blaise and Parveen Kaur.
This episode is going to be incredibly important; we don’t think we need to state that in some sort of extreme way to get out to realize it. For starters, you have the presentation of a possible new villain. Meanwhile, Ben departing home is going to have some understandable consequences. When Grace decided that Ben should leave on the fall finale, it was clear that there would be consequences to that. We don’t even blame Grace for doing what she did given that she was just trying everything in her power in order to ensure that her son is safe. She’s acting like any mother would, but it is also fairly-clear at this point that we are living within an abnormal world. This is a place where people just don’t have a tendency to act in a way that would behoove normal circumstances.
All in all, it is going to be best for Grace to realize how tied Cal is to everything. He may be the most important person in unraveling the mystery — he’s going to be targeted for what he knows and, beyond that, he’s also the most vulnerable. If the idea for Manifest was to ratchet the stakes up to 11 with him at the center of it, the show is certainly succeeding.
