CBS kicks off Celebrity Big Brother 2 promotional campaign (video)

You can officially see one of the first promos for the upcoming season (premiering on January 21) below; yet, don’t expect it to be altogether shocking in terms of material. The challenge with promoting any season of Big Brother is the sole fact that there is only so much that you can show. There is no official cast at the moment; heck, there may not even be all that much of an official cast behind the scenes just yet. Often, these things are finalized at the last minute, and with a celebrity season there are so many different things that need to be worked out including schedules and also making sure that the cast are all comfortable and understand what the show is.
One thing that we really should emphasize is that it doesn’t really matter how famous most of the cast is; instead, it’s about what they bring to the table. We don’t think that every single person on the show last season was particularly well-known; we were grateful that we were at least reasonably aware of most of them before they were cast. What made last season pretty good was the content itself, including some of the conflicts and the competitions. The producers found a way to make the first season work and we absolutely hope that there are some fun ideas coming up this time around.
Ultimately, what we like about this show is that it works as a rather-nice appetizer for what could be a really great season of Big Brother all over the globe. We’re going to be talking about Big Brother Canada in the late winter / spring and then after that Big Brother proper once more in the summer. There is a lot of fun to be had with all of these shows, and in some ways this first Celebrity Big Brother promo represents one of the first big kick-offs that we have to a lot of the great content that is coming up down the line.
