Shadowhunters season 3 episode 11 spoilers: The search for Clary

At the end of the first half of this season, it was clear that Katherine McNamara’s character was put into a rather precarious bind — as a matter of fact, she may be totally MIA. Yet, do you really think that some of the other people around Clary, whether it be her friends or Jace, are going to accept the fact that she is gone for good? That’s not how this group of characters work.
Speaking in a new interview via Entertainment Weekly, here is what executive producer Todd Slavkin has to say:
“They refuse to believe that Clary is gone forever … As a father figure, Luke is really driving that search … Her experience when she was away will forever change her. It will take a lot to go back to how Clary used to be.”
We don’t think that the producers are trying all too hard to hide the fact that Clary is still going to be around, but why would they? They recognize the character’s importance to the overall narrative and also the sense of enthusiasm that most people out there are going to have when it comes to having her around. The larger question that you may be left to wonder, at least at present, is how much her journey will change her and what this means for her relationships and her goals for the future.
Beyond Clary…
Of course, there are some other stories that the remaining 12 episodes will address this season. Take, for example, getting to assess more or less the state of things when it comes to Magnus and Alec’s relationship following Magnus’ sacrifice at the end of the midseason finale. He could also experience some big changes. Collectively, all of the characters are going to experiencing some new threats courtesy of the arrival of the real iteration of Jonathan … and also a few others bubbling underneath the surface.
There are many threats that lie ahead over the course of season 3, but above all else, we’re looking for an action-packed, eventful, and in the end hopeful batch of episodes that stay true to the tone and the spirit of this series.
