Timeless season 3 renewal odds: Is there any hope?

Coming into the Timeless movie, what are the actual season 3 renewal odds? In this article, we want to do our best to document that very thing.

We’ve stated, time and time again, that the last thing that we want to do on this particular site is offer up some false hope. That’s why, at least for the time being, it does not appear altogether likely that there is going to be more of the Abigail Spencer – Matt Lanter series down the line. NBC already canceled the show, and really, everyone just came back together for the movie in order to make sure that there was a little bit more closure and fans had something to celebrate.

For now, the cast is moving forward, and we imagine the same thing has to be said for the creative team. These people all value their work as a source of income, and it’s hard for them to sit around and wait in order to learn, one way or another, if their show is going to be coming back for more.

…But is there still a chance?

Technically, sure. If the ratings turn out to be good for the movie, it does open the door for something more to happen down the line … but it may not be for a while. Spencer is working on a new series in Reprisal that is, at least for now, in the pilot stage. Other cast members have been looking to move forward into other film and TV gigs, so it may be rather-hard to schedule something. Yet, if the ratings are good and there is interest from somewhere — whether it be NBC or another network / platform — maybe a third season will happen down the line.

Ultimately, even if Timeless just turns out to be the sort of thing that we get a new movie from once every couple of years, that’s still infinitely better than the alternative, i.e. not getting anything more from the series at all. We’re glad about the fact that the show is bringing us a little bit more content in the form of this movie — it’s incredible that fans rallied in this sort of way in order to bring the show back, and that’s something we can be grateful for no matter what happens moving into the future.
