Is Criminal Minds new tonight on CBS? Preparing for the home stretch

Alas, the bad news is that we’re going to be waiting for a little while to see what’s next for Joe Mantegna, Paget Brewster, and the remainder of the series’ cast. There is no new episode tonight due to the Survivor: David vs. Goliath finale / reunion show, and with that in mind CBS is going to keep you waiting for a good while still to see what’s coming on the other side. How long are we talking? think in terms of early January. That’s when episode 11 of season 14 will air, and you can read a few more details as to what’s coming up next over at the link here.
As for what we’d like to see on Criminal Minds through the remaining five episodes, getting some more fantastic character development is pretty high up on the list. This is a show all about watching heroes take down UnSubs, but also figure out some important things about themselves along the way. This season so far has featured JJ and Luke facing their past, while also forcing Rossi and Prentiss to look at some of their own personal vulnerabilities. There’s been a reasonable amount of content crammed in here via Criminal Minds standards and we hope that the trend continues of mixing good personal stories with some of what we’re getting a chance to see via some of the UnSubs.
Of course, beyond all of this we’re also hoping for a chance in order to see something really intense and different moving into the finale. Why not take a big swing with the end of season 14? While we don’t want some enormous cliffhanger given that the renewal odds are currently up in the air, we would be happy to think that the BAU continues to function even if we are not around to see it. We like to think that these characters, after all, are working to take down a wide array of UnSubs even on the occasions in which we are not around.
